Brother's Product Launch 2026

Brother's Product Launch 2026

, by Matt Green, 16 min reading time

There’s been a lot happening at Woodseats this week, with the announcement of some exciting new Brother machines and accessories. From the brand-new BX1 and BX1e Expedition machines to the Aveneer EV1 upgrade kit, new stitch regulator, quilting and sewing accessory kits, there’s plenty to get excited about. I’ve picked through the new products, explained what I think makes them useful, and how they could help you get even more from your existing Brother machine.

New Brother Machines & Accessories Have Landed – Here’s What I’m Excited About!

It’s been a very busy week here at Woodseats, with a whole host of new Brother products being unveiled at the product launch — and there’s quite a bit to get excited about!

We’ve got two brand-new machines in the Brother Expedition range, a fantastic upgrade kit for the Aveneer EV1, some really useful new feet and accessory kits, a new stitch regulator, trolley bags and even a new wide table.

And the thing I really like about this latest batch of products is that it isn’t all about buying a brand-new machine. A lot of these accessories have been designed to make the Brother machine you already own even more capable.

So, I thought I’d run through what’s new, what I think is particularly useful, and why some of these accessories could be worth adding to your sewing room.

Introducing the Brother Innov-is BX1 Expedition

First up is the Brother Innov-is BX1 Expedition Sewing & Embroidery Machine, and this is a really exciting addition to the Brother range.

The BX1 combines sewing and embroidery in one machine and comes packed with features designed to make more advanced sewing, quilting and embroidery projects easier.

It has 754 built-in sewing stitches and 774 built-in embroidery designs, along with 140 frame pattern variations and 23 fonts. It also works wirelessly with Brother's Artspira ecosystem, giving you another way of getting creative with your projects.

One feature that particularly caught my attention is the Curve Sewing function. It is designed to make it easier to guide fabric around curves by changing how the fabric is fed depending on the position of the needle. For anyone who does a lot of free-form sewing, appliqué, clothing or curved piecing, this could be a really useful addition.

Then there’s the Compact Digital Dual Feed Foot, which helps when you're working with thicker, slippery or layered fabrics.

The BX1 also has an optional Stitch Regulator, which we'll come back to later because this is one of the new accessories I think existing owners will be particularly interested in.

Take a look at the Brother Innov-is BX1 Expedition here.
We are currently taking pre-orders for October 2026, so contact us to organise leaving a deposit.

Or perhaps embroidery is more your thing? Meet the BX1e Expedition

If you already have a sewing machine you love and want to concentrate purely on embroidery, Brother has also launched the Innov-is BX1e Expedition Embroidery Machine.

This is the embroidery-only version, and it has a really generous 8" x 14" embroidery area, along with 774 built-in embroidery designs, 140 decorative frame patterns and 23 fonts.

I particularly like the 2-Point Positioning with LED Pointer. If you've ever spent ages getting a project hooped, only to worry whether your design is actually going to land exactly where you want it, you'll appreciate what this is trying to achieve. The BX1e can use the two points to help position your design, even if the fabric hasn't been hooped absolutely perfectly.

There's also wireless connectivity, Artspira compatibility, Matrix Copy for repeating designs and Stitch to Block technology to help maintain the integrity of designs when resizing them.

For existing or new-to embroidery customers, this is certainly one to look at if you are only after an embroidery machine.

Already own an Aveneer EV1? Don't miss this!

This is probably one of the biggest things I want existing Brother Aveneer EV1 owners to know about.

Brother has introduced the Aveneer EV1 Upgrade Kit, and it adds some genuinely useful features to an already very capable machine.

The biggest headline for me is the new 408 x 272mm (16" x 10⅝") magnetic embroidery frame. It's made from carbon fibre resin, making it lighter and stronger, and uses flat magnets to make hooping easier. After seeing it showcased at the product launch, this is a game changer compared to existing magnetic frames.

Then there's Pattern Projection+.

This takes the EV1's projection technology a step further by moving the embroidery frame while projecting the complete design onto your fabric. That means you can check the positioning and overall layout before you commit to stitching.

If you've ever had that horrible moment halfway through an embroidery project where you realise the design isn't quite where you wanted it, you'll understand why this is useful!

The upgrade also adds:

  • Matrix Copy

  • 22 Trapunto-style quiltbroidery designs

  • 5 additional edge-to-edge quilt patterns

  • 10 French Knot embroidery designs

  • 7 crochet couching patterns

  • 13 new embroidery patterns

  • New Baby Quilt designs and templates

And importantly, some of the new designs are specifically designed to take advantage of the larger embroidery frame.

The upgrade kit is £599 RRP, with an introductory offer available of £569. Extra to this, we have loyalty discounts available for our customer's who have purchased the machine from us, and up to now, everybody is thrilled by the price!
So if you've already invested in an Aveneer, I'd definitely recommend getting in touch with us to see what we can do for you.

New Brother Stitch Regulator Kit – £399

Now this is an accessory that I think is going to get a lot of interest.

The new Stitch Regulator Kit is available for the BX1, EV1 and CX1, and it's priced at £399.

The idea behind a stitch regulator is to help maintain consistent stitch lengths when you're doing free-motion work. On the BX1, Brother describes the optional regulator as adjusting needle timing to match the speed at which the fabric is being moved. It includes Continuous, Intermittent and Basting modes, along with three free-motion feet.

For anyone getting seriously into free-motion quilting, this is exactly the sort of accessory that can make your existing machine considerably more versatile.

And at £399, I think it's particularly interesting when you consider what you're getting rather than immediately thinking of it as "just another accessory".

If you already own one of the compatible machines, this could be a much more cost-effective way of expanding what your machine can do than changing the machine itself.

If you're unsure whether your machine is compatible, contact us a call before ordering and we'll be happy to check it for you.

New High Shank Heavy-Duty Walking Foot for the Brother PQ1600S – £79.99

The Brother PQ1600S has already proved popular with quilters and sewists who want a fast, precise straight-stitch machine. It can sew at up to 1,500 stitches per minute and has a range of fabric-control features designed for more demanding projects.

Now there's a new high shank heavy-duty walking foot available for it, priced at just £79.99.

If you're quilting multiple layers, working with wadding, or sewing fabrics that can be difficult to feed evenly, a walking foot can make a huge difference.

Rather than relying solely on the machine's feed dogs to move the bottom layer, the walking foot helps feed the upper layers along with it.

For me, the big attraction here is the price.

At £79.99, it gives PQ1600S owners a relatively affordable way of adding another useful capability to an already very capable machine.

And if you're considering a PQ1600S and think you'll be doing a lot of quilting, it's certainly an accessory I'd be asking us about.

Seam Accuracy Kit – Just £39.99

This is one of those kits where I think the price makes it very easy to justify.

The new Seam Accuracy Kit is £39.99 and includes:

  • Edge Joining Foot

  • Straight Stitch Foot

  • Vertical Alignment Foot

If you're particular about getting seams, edges and stitching lines exactly where you want them, these are incredibly useful feet to have available.

The edge joining foot can help with accurately joining fabrics and keeping edges aligned, while the straight stitch foot is particularly useful when you want a little more support around the needle area.

The vertical alignment foot is another handy addition when accurate positioning is important.

At £39.99 for the three, rather than buying all three seperately at £53.97, I think this is one of those accessory kits that makes a lot of sense — particularly if you already own a compatible Brother machine.

Decorative Edge Kit – £39.99

Next up is the Decorative Edge Kit, again at just £39.99.

This one includes:

  • Bi-Level Foot Right

  • Narrow Zipper Foot

  • Piping Foot

This is a lovely little kit for anyone who enjoys adding detail to garments, bags, home décor or other sewing projects.

The piping foot is particularly useful for creating and inserting piping, while the narrow zipper foot gives you greater access when working close to zips and other narrow areas.

And the Bi-Level Foot Right is designed to help when you're sewing over raised edges or uneven surfaces.

Again, £39.99 for three specialist feet, rather than buying all three seperately at £53.97, makes this a really tempting upgrade for anyone who likes to expand what their machine can do.

Patchwork Kit – £39.99

And then we've got one specifically for the quilters.

The new Patchwork Kit is also £39.99 and includes:

  • ¼" Foot

  • Open Toe Foot

  • Binding Foot

If you enjoy patchwork and quilting, these are three incredibly useful additions.

The ¼" foot is a particularly important one for accurate patchwork piecing, helping you maintain those consistent quarter-inch seams.

The open toe foot gives you a much clearer view around the needle area, which is handy for free-motion and decorative work, while the binding foot makes adding binding to quilts and other projects much easier.

Once again, for £39.99, rather than buying all three seperately at £53.97, you're getting three useful specialist feet rather than having to buy them individually.

New Expedition Trolley Bag Sets – £249

If you're investing in one of the new Expedition machines, you're probably also going to want to think about how you're going to move it around.

The new Expedition trolley bag sets are £249, and they're available for the embroidery machine and arm or for the sewing machine.

And honestly, a good trolley bag is one of those things you don't always think you need until you've had to carry a large embroidery or sewing machine somewhere!

The obvious benefit is portability, but it's also about protecting your investment when you're taking your machine to classes, sewing groups, exhibitions, workshops or simply moving it around the house.

The Brother Aveneer range already has dedicated trolley options available, and Brother's top-end trolley bags are designed specifically around these larger machines.

A great example is when we attend the UK Machine Embroidery Group Embroidery Retreats, it is very much so a Brother dominated event, and as such, you will see countless trolley bags being pulled along with their Brother machines inside.

If you're buying an Expedition machine from us, ask us about adding the trolley set at the same time.

New WT19 Wide Table – £99.99

Finally, something that I think will appeal to a much wider range of Brother owners: the new WT19 Wide Table.

Priced at £99.99, the WT19 is designed for compatible XJ, XE, XV, V Series and the all-new BX Series machines.

And if you've ever tried quilting or sewing a large piece of fabric on a machine without enough table space, you'll know exactly why a wide table is useful.

The extra support helps keep larger projects flatter and more stable as you're sewing, rather than having the weight of the fabric pulling against the machine.

For quilting, dressmaking, home décor, curtains and other larger projects, that extra workspace can make sewing considerably more comfortable.

It's one of those accessories that might not look as exciting as a new machine, but once you've used a proper wide table, it's difficult to go back!

£99.99 is a really good price for anyone looking to expand their workspace.

The good news – you don't always need a new machine!

This is probably the biggest message I want to get across with all these new Brother products.

We obviously love selling new sewing and embroidery machines, and finding the joy it brings people who purchase a new machine from us, is always a wonderful feeling. Being able to form that personal connection and rapport with our customers for every sale from beginner to expert machines, really does bring a high level of satisfaction for us. When you are happy, so are we!

The new BX1 and BX1e are absolutely worth coming to have a look at — but we're also very aware that many of our customers already own machines they love.

That's why I'm particularly pleased to see Brother bringing out more accessories and upgrade options.

Multiple reasonably priced £39.99 accessory kits, a £79.99 heavy-duty walking foot, a £399 stitch regulator or an Aveneer upgrade could potentially transform what you're able to do with the machine that's already sitting in your sewing room.

Sometimes you don't need to replace the machine.

You just need to give it a few more tools.
